Recommended Weekly Rent Range

Affordability, in plain English.

The affordability range

The Rental IQ Report shows where the proposed rent sits against the applicant's verified cashflow, on a single sliding scale anyone can read in seconds. No jargon, no finance degree required. The pointer moves along the range so you can see at a glance how much room this applicant has: comfortably within reach at one end, stretching the budget at the other.

Where the rent lands

The pointer shows exactly where this property's rent falls for this applicant. For agents, that's an immediate read on whether someone is stretching for this place, or could comfortably carry a higher rent if they needed to. No spreadsheet, no back and forth. Just a clear answer, instantly.

How the rent range is calculated

Rental IQ's recommended weekly rent range is built from three verified inputs:

Net monthly cashflow

Income minus expenses, sourced directly from banking data

Reasonable buffer thresholds

Industry-standard ratios, calibrated against Australian rental market data

The proposed weekly rent

Entered when the report is generated

We don't give anyone a score. We don't sell your data to a credit bureau. The range is transparent, the inputs are bank-verified, and the thresholds are published.

For shared rentals, the rent range is calculated on the combined cashflow of all applicants. Each applicant's individual position is also visible, so if one renter is carrying the others, everyone can see it, including the agent.
